Silver Ball Century ep. 42 - Early 1984 - Get Ready for the Ride

1984 is not a big year for pinball, but some of my favorite machines of the '80s happen to have been released in 1984. Two of the shining stars of the mid-80s, in my view, are the popular Alien Star and the rarely-seen Star Light.
Some of the tables here are iterations on a theme: X's and O's is "what if Mystic had more stuff", Laser Cue is "what if Alien Poker had more stuff", and Kings of Steel is "what if Skateball had even more imbalanced scoring".
The title of this post is a callout from Zaccaria's delightfully unhinged Devil Riders, whose gameplay has a single-minded focus on making risky shots that lower a ramp and getting to the upper playfield.
Silver Ball Century is back on Thursday this week – November 20 starting at 8pm on twitch.tv/arborelia.
