The thing I want to share up front, from this episode, is the incredible flyer that advertised Bally's Fathom, introducing the story of the table's theme in a comic drawn by Bally artist Kevin O'Connor:

Comic named "The Mystery of Fathom". It depicts two divers in a boat. The male diver is saying "I just can't FATHOM why he'd dive in by himself, especially in these waters. He should have waited for us!". In another panel, his female companion is thinking "What a mess. I wish that old man in town last night would've stopped telling those stories of sea nymphs and mermaids. Lucky for us that's all they are - stories. Nice way to welcome visiting divers. Wait a minute! Wha... What the..." The last panel shows the diver being pulled downward, saying "GLUB", with a mermaid fin visible.

We'll see the story continue on the "world under glass" of the playfield itself.

I'm also excited for "Li'l Devil", the controllable post between the flippers on Fireball II, which shouts "Bang! Pow! Zap!" in the Speak-and-Spell voice when you fire it.

As usual, you need Visual Pinball 10.8 to play these, and free accounts on VPForums and VPUniverse to download them.

Interestingly, the majority of this particular era has been covered by the prolific VPX maker UnclePaulie.
