I have watched two Gundam series ever and I have a take
You: Gundam Witch is revolutionary because it gives us a female protagonist in a Gundam series for the first time, and she's queer
Me: Laura Cehack in Turn A Gundam
You: you know what I mean. Suletta is the first Gundam protagonist who was intended as a woman, not just in headcanon
Me: Tomino said he wrote Laura Cehack because he intended to write a female protagonist but the studio said no
You: Suletta and Miorine have a beautiful, intense, sapphic romance!
Me: So do Laura and Dianna
You: People actually talk about the queerness of Gundam Witch and that's important
Me: It sure is easier to talk about when they're cis, isn't it?
I am like 95% serious. Loran/Laura is genderfluid at minimum. She comes across to me as "as trans as a serious character is allowed to be in 1999", and there is no acceptable way to explain that away.
